I need to get this off my chest right now because if I don’t I’ll burst into tears.
The panel is of England and America, and England states that America runs his mouth off (can’t keep quiet) and is provocative (he provoked Russia). USUK fans were happy, but others got upset because the scene was taken out of context.
Fans take scenes and dialogue out of context all the time. This happens in just about every fandom, with just about every ship. Some fans even get excited just because their otp stood next to each other for a few seconds, looked at each other, or even spoke for a moment. This is completely okay!
I can understand why the translator was upset since it was taken out of context; choosing the correct words to convey what the character meant is really hard.
But you guys don’t have to tell us to take our shipping goggles off. You guys don’t have to be jerks about it, you guys don’t have to tell us that we’re such bad hardcore shippers that nobody should associate with.
I, myself, was just happy that England was even thinking about America. They’re my otp, after all- am I not allowed to be a fangirl? Am I not allowed to be excited about things and be happy that they were in the same panel..?
Do I need to apologize for being a shipper?
You always make such good posts, haha
